Jean Darling & Stephen Mason - Cirque du Soil
Off Grid Thinking in Urban Living: Introduction to the Circular Economy
Circular economy is the new sustainability, but what does this mean? Cities and local councils around the world are beginning to adopt circular models based on principles of sharing, re-use and restoration, with an emphasis on limiting municipal waste volumes and on producing locally – for instance, urban farming. Could the rest of us who live in cities consume less, reuse and recycle water, energy, products and materials; and stimulate an economy of repair, borrowing and upcycling? Meet the good folk behind Cirque du Soil, a social enterprise advocating for circular, regenerative cities and neighbourhoods, and come along for an engaging session about the circular economy movement that's happening across Melbourne and the world, and how this relates to off grid living.
